“Great are the works of the Lord; They are studied (sought out) by all who delight in them.” Psalm 111:2 NASB
Psalm 111 introduces us to an important motivation for a ministry researcher:
- The researcher’s “delight” in God’s works motivates him or her to “search out” or “study” what God is doing. .
- Studying God’s great works could involve historical research or present day field research.
- When a researcher studies the growth of the church, God’s “fingerprints” will be found all along the way.
- A researcher's heart that is in harmony with God will find great delight in "discovering" what God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit have done and are doing to build his church (Matthew 16:18; John 16:7-11; Acts 1:1; 2:47; 16:4; I Corinthians 3:5-9; 12:3)!
